About the authorDr Catriona Walsh
Dr Catriona Walsh did her preclinical medical training at Cambridge University and her clinical training at Queen’s University Belfast. She spent 15 years as a paediatric doctor in the NHS, eventually becoming a consultant with a specialist interest in childhood allergy and metabolic disorders.
Her own health crisis, triggered by a single gadolinium contrast MRI, forced her to reevaluate everything she thought she knew about healthcare. She left mainstream medicine to found The Food Phoenix, dedicating herself to helping others navigate the conditions that conventional medicine either can’t explain or won’t acknowledge.
She co-authored the largest patient-led survey on gadolinium toxicity symptoms (316 patients), partners with leading researchers on gadolinium pathophysiology and oxalate toxicity, and holds a Diploma in Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching from the Institute of Health Sciences, Dublin.
She also really doesn’t like big spiders. At all.
